It’s been a long, long, long, long time.
What can I say? I’ve been busy. Or lazy. Or both… So what have I been up to? Let’s see…
I took the most part of last year off. Just relaxing and hanging out with friends before I made my way back to Minnesota for Christmas in December. I was home for about a week and a half and had a great time. I was unable to see everyone I wanted to due to bad weather, but that’s what you get when you live/visit someplace where it snows! It’s always nice to get back and visit the family for the holidays. Hopefully my next trip I’ll be able to see more people.
When I got back to LA, I started back up working at Fox’s reality show, “Hell’s Kitchen”. This is my 6th season with the show as a Switcher. I am responisble for directing the 80 robotic cameras that we have on the show. 60 hour work weeks, but I can’t complain too much. After we wrap in mid-march, I’ll be heading over to post production on the same show to assist the online editor. I’ll be employed until sometime in August! That’s a LONG time for us freelancing folks.
Somehow in my 1 day off a week I’ve managed to play paintball twice (which resulted in some very nice bruises!), go to Disneyland twice, AND go to the dentist twice! A girl can only be so lucky! Oh yeah! And I also found a new place to live! My roommate of 5 years is kicking me out! It’s a very peaceful separation though.
) After weeks of searching we (My friends Karin and Niki) found an awesome place to rent a mere 1.5 miles from where I live now. I apparently fear change. It’s a very large 3 bedroom/2 bath and we move in April 1st. I have pictures posted here. Now I just have to start packing and throwing away all the crap I have accumulated over the last 5 years. Yikes!
Until then I will be staying very busy. Next weekend I am off to Disneyland again! I apparently can’t get enough of that place. My new roommate Karin got us the hook up at Club 33! For those of you who are not familiar with Club 33, it is a five star restaurant in Disneyland with a limited membership of 487 and is not open to the public. Read all about it here. I’ve heard the rumors for years and now I’ll be able to check it out for myself!
Shortly after that my roommate Kirsten and I are competing in The Great Urban Race. It’s a wacky city wide scavenger hunt in Los Angeles. It seems like it’s going to be really fun. Our team name is Hasenpfeffer Incorporated and we are dressing up as Laverne and Shirley. Why? Because there is a costume contest and because we think it’s funny. We are trying to talk a couple of other friends to join us as Lenny and Squiggy. I hope they go for it.
Lastly I am running the 16th Annual Revlon 5k for Women on May 9th. I am raising money to help fund important research into the cause and cure of women’s cancers, prevention, education and support service programs. I know times are pretty tight for a lot of people right now, but if you can, please donate to the cause here EIF Revlon 5k. Whatever amount you can give would be greatly appreciated!
I hope you all are doing well and I promise to update more than once every 3 or 4 months. Ok… I’ll TRY to update more often. As always, feel free to leave me a message! I thoroughly enjoy them!!
P.S. It was sunny and 83 degrees today. BEAUTIFUL!! How is it where you are?
