Wow. Two posts in one week. How unlike me! Halloween is quickly approaching and this weekend was the annual Detroit Street Costume Party. Every year it is a great party with some amazing costumes. My friend Jason Smith always has by far the best costume and he certainly did not let us down this year! He built this entire costume from scratch!
In case you are not familiar, he is the giant in the movie “Iron Giant”. There are many many more awesome costumes, including my roommate who went as Inspector Gadget here. Oh! And you want to know what I went as? 10 cool points if you know where it came from! Also to see video of the skit that the costume came from, click here. Enjoy!
I don’t know if you noticed, but Southern California has been on the news a lot this week. We’s got a whole lot of fire! According to estimates, nearly 1 million southern Californians have been displaced in the biggest evacuation in state history as a result of at least 16 simultaneous wildfires. That is more people than Hurricane Katrina displaced! Good news is that many of the fires are now 100% contained. Yay! I just wanted to let everyone know that I am very safe and sound in my neck of the woods. None of the fires were anywhere near my house. The air is a little icky though and from time to time it smells like camp fire in my house. Driving to the store today I noticed a solid line between beautiful blue sky and a mucky dark gray sky. Luckily my house is still under the blue sky. To see pictures from the fires click here. Check out an interactive map of the fires here. I live to the right of number 3. If you zoom in I am just a tiny bit west of Pasadena. I hope everyone is doing well and thank you for the calls of concern! Take care!
