Back to the real world!
It has been one busy month and a half! As previously posted, in December I went to Hawaii and ran a marathon! It was awesome! Check out pictures from it here. After the marathon I flew over to Maui with friends Dan and Gigi for a week of rest and relaxation. The place we were staying in was amazing!! We originally were going to have 5 people, but we ended up with just the three of us. The place was three bedroom, three bath, full kitchen, laundry, balconies that looked out onto the ocean and a beautiful sandy beach right out front! We got in Monday night, explored the house and then headed down to the town of Lahaina. It was less then a mile and was an easy walking distance. We walked around Lahaina for a little while, had dinner and headed back to the house. I was still a little tired. Most of the days on Maui were spent relaxing, hanging out at the beach and grilling.
On Wednesday we got adventurous. We headed out on a dive boat to Molokini. Dan and Gigi snorkeled while I went scuba diving! It was my first time warm water diving. I didn’t even use a wet suit! It was awesome! (Gigi took some photos with an underwater camera. I will have those up in a week or so.) On the first dive, we dropped down to 40 feet. I looked to my right and saw a white tipped reef shark! (Not my picture) I thought it would make me nervous, but I was just an awe. Diving in Hawaii was a completely different experience than in southern California. I hope I get to do more of it!
On Thursday I woke up a little under the weather, so I just took it easy and continued with relaxing on the beach the rest of the time. I know… it was tough! On Saturday morning Dan and Gigi drove to Hana, which is apparently an awesome drive through rain forests. Check out the pictures here.
We left on Sunday night, got home Monday morning and I had to pack for Minnesota because my flight left Tuesday night. I had a good Christmas. Hanging out with family and seeing friends from college. Three more friends are engaged!! Am I really getting to that age already?
Now it is back to the real world. Back to work! I start training for Hell’s Kitchen season 3 on Friday. I will be switching again, which I did for the show way back in Season 1. I get to work with a very large percentage of people from Big Brother and other random friends, so it should be pretty fun. I am very excited to get back to work, and ya know… a paycheck. It’s been way too long! Hope all is well with everyone, and drop me a line sometime!
