I took my written final exam for scuba class tonight.  I passed!  I got a 98%. Tomorrow and Sunday are our open water “practical” dives.   We go to the ocean, jump off a boat and do the skils we learned in the pool.  We will be in and around the Catalina Islands.  It should be a lot of fun, but I need to get up in about 5 hours to catch the boat!

It has been a little while since my last post, but I have been busy!  Which is good since I have been unemployed for most of the last 2 months.  Time well spent though.  I recently purchased my very first piece of new furniture.  A couch!  Very exciting for me! A big improvement from the last one.  (But the last one was free.)

The other big news is that I am currently enrolled in a scuba certification class. We had 2 full days in the pool this weekend, four more days of class info and then this weekend we have our open water dives.  Hopefully by next Sunday I will be a certified scuba diver!  It is really fun, but slightly terrifying.  I am sure I will become more and more confident the more I learn and the more dives I do. Hopefully I will be able to go sailing and do a lot of dives this summer.  The only thing that might prevent me from doing that is…

I got a sort of promotion this year at BB.  I am now the lead switcher.  What does that mean?  I will more involved this year with the competitions, and will be working with a lot of different departments to make sure everything everyone needs is getting covered.  A big change from last year, but I think I am really going to like it!

There are a few other fun jobs and projects that I am working on right now, but I am going to be late for class if I don’t leave now.  I will probably post an update Sunday or Monday to let everyone know how the open water dives go!
