This weekend was quite the busy one! Friday was a very good day. First my Bemidji boys too bronze in the Olympics! YEAH!!! Then we went to see Wicked on Broadway. The show is sold out through April, but we were able to get cancelled tickets. It was AWESOME! I saw it when it was in LA, but traveling shows really can’t compare with the NY show. I mean, come on…. Monkeys, flying over your head?!?!? You just can’t get that anywhere!
Saturday was my first day off since I have been out here. We went to the
Metropolitan Museum of Art. I’m usually not a big museum person, but I really liked it. I probably didn’t even see half of it, but I highly recommend it if you are in town! I will have a gallery of pictures up within the week, just from the Met. After we left there we traveled over to the upper east side and went to Gray’s Papaya.
The most delicious hot dog I have ever tasted! Then we went over to a place that had really good creme puffs. (Basically I spent most of Saturday eating.) Oh, we also walked through Central Park. Sometime I want to come back (in the summer) and go horseback riding through there. A little too cold this time of year. Then while the boys went to work, I went to another show! (Hello. My name is Ky and I have a problem.) I saw The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. It was HILARIOUS!! They interacted with the audience a lot and there were only about 10 or so in the cast.
Today (Sunday) is my last day at work. I really doesn’t seem like it has been 3 weeks. The time REALLY flew by. I was looking forward to getting back to warm temperatures and sunny skies. (Checking forecast…. Yeah…. Rain and a high of 60 in LA until Wednesday) I have a lot of photos from around the town, but I won’t have time to post until later this week. I am also going to be adding other picture galleries when I get back. From sailing, halloween and fun stuff like that! Hope everyone is well, and I will catch you on the other coast!

I’m not very good at updating page it seems. I also haven’t been taking very many pictures either. I have my very first day off on Saturday and plan on spending the weekend at Central Park/the Met. So I should have more pictures to post on Sunday night.
I have been pretty busy with work, but I have been taking the time to see the town a little bit and take in a few shows. I have seen Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, and Avenue Q. They were all really good shows, but my favorite was Avenue Q. Any broadway musical that is unsuitable for children under 13 always scores entertainment points with me. I hope to see 1 or 2 more shows while I am here, but it depends on what tickets are available.
This trip is almost complete. Closing ceremonies for the Olympics is Sunday night. We leave to head back to sunny California on Monday afternoon. I think I just might miss my hotel home and having someone clean up after me everyday, just a little bit! I will leave you with a picture of me outside Tiffany’s. My friend pointed out that she liked that I was wearing my BSU sweatshirt. What can I say? I’m 100% classy lady all the time!!
P.S. it is 4:30 in the morning. Please ignore poor spelling and bad english. Thank You!

I don’t know if anyone heard, but it snowed this weekend in NY!! 26.9 inches to be specific. In less then 24 hours! The most snow generated by one system in the history of NYC.

8 a.m Saturday morning looked this this. (I was really tired.)
It started to snow about 6 p.m. on Saturday night. By 6 a.m. Sunday morning we were in the middle of… “BLIZZARD, 2006!!”
It was snowing/storming so hard that there was thunder and lightning for a few hours as well. I never realized that you could have thunder and lightning with a snowstorm. It was a very strange experience. When we walked (see also; slipped, sled, and trudged) back to the hotel the city was so quiet. I’m sure being 6 a.m. on a Sunday and being in the middle of a blizzard had something to do with it, but it was really cool to see the “city that never sleeps” so inactive.
Be sure to check out my photo gallery on NY. I will be posting most of the pictures I take on that page. Although, if you click on the pictures above, it will also take you to my pic gallery. Hope everyone is well, and my next post will be about my adventure to the Empire State Building!

Today I got to sleep in a little and I also hit the gym. The only reason why I had a lazy day is because tonight is opening ceremonies for the Olympics. That means I get to work until very early in the a.m. of Saturday. And that is if it all goes well! I think tomorrow during the day, I might actually be able to get out and see the town. If not.. well, this is my “office” for the next few weeks!

It isn’t super fancy, but it gets the job done! The good news is… New York City is under a blizzard watch through Monday for the first time over a year! They said to expect 8 to 12 inches of snow in less then 24 hrs., with winds up to 50 mph winds!! I haven’t seen weather like that for a LONG time! My friend is supposed to be flying in that afternoon. Hope you don’t get stuck in Detroit!! I hope to have more pictures up for sure by Monday night, so keep checking back when you are bored!

We arrived in NY late Sunday afternoon and checked into the hotel. There I greeted my new home for the next 22 days.

The king sized bed is very comfortable and has 5 pillows! You gotta love that! We check out Times Square for a little while, but didn’t stay out too late, cause we both had only gotten an hour of sleep and were up at 3am LA time. And we were about to have a very long Monday…
2/6
We went to NBC today to get set up and fix any problems we run into with the encoding. We are working out of the 15th floor of 30 Rockefeller Center.

(There are 70 floors.) The Today Show tapes just to the left of this photo, but apparently they have offices in the Rock, cause I shared an elevator with Ann Curry the other day. (She’s very friendly.) Right across from where we go in is the infamous ice skating rink.
It is MUCH smaller then it looks on TV! That night we went back to the hotel to do job #2. Incited Media does a lot of the encoding (making video play nice on the internet) for America Online and Network Live. Basically that means that some musical act plays a concert, we take the video and put it on the web. It can take a while to do! I think we finished around 6am and had to be back at NBC at 9:30am.
Wednesday was pretty much a repeat of Monday. I am actually waiting for some clips right now, and it is… 3:30 am. Fun times!
I will hopefully be adding more pictures later this week. My friend Jason is coming to town and I think Sunday will be my first day off, so we plan to do the tourist-y things, including see a broadway show! Please feel free to leave a comment if you want. I am still learning how this page works, so be patient!
